Members are reminded of the Club By-law III
"No racing boat which is the property of the Club shall be taken from the rack without the permission of the Captain or his representative."
This is to be taken literally. It should not be taken from the rack. Not even moving it.
For this purpose the 'representative' is the named person on the “Boat allocation” lists published from time to time and posted on the notice boards and boat house doors and published on this website. Only these persons may allocate these boats. All boats require consent to be used.
For sculling boats there is a booking system. See the allocated carer for details.
In the absence of the named person for a 'general' boat and only in extremis may a Deputy Captain or committee member be approached. Anyone so doing will have to justify the need and urgency.
