General Meeting

A General Meeting has been called for Friday 5th December 2003 at Headquarters Club, Duke of York's Headquarters, Duke of York's Square, London SW3 4RY for 7 pm.

 

This General Meeting is to take place immediately prior to the Club's Annual Dinner, and copies of resolutions to be put to this meeting will be available on the Club noticeboard or by email from Jessica Wright (Hon Sec).

 

Club Annual Dinner

The Wyfold Challenge Cup, won at Henley Royal Regatta earlier this year will be on display at the dinner, and you will be able to meet the Wyfold crew and their coach. Guest speakers include Greg Searle, Olympic Gold Medallist in 1992 and also competitor in the 2002 Americas Cup. Numbers at the annual dinner are limited to 130 and places will be reserved on a strictly first-come first-served basis. If you would like to attend please contact Jaap Oepkes as soon as possible.

CHISWICK REACH

Construction of Outfall on Surrey Shore opposite the upstream end of Chiswick Eyot

On or about 22 Sep 03, for a period of about 12 weeks, an outfall will be constructed on the Surrey Shore of Chiswick Reach opposite the upstream end of Chiswick Eyot.

As part of the work, a temporary cofferdam will be erected on the site. The cofferdam will protrude approximately 9 metres from the riverbank; the outside extremity will be marked by a beacon with a red can top-mark by day and by 2 fixed vertically displaced red lights by night.

Persons in charge of vessels are to navigate in the area with extra caution.


Boat Acquisitions and Disposals
The 3 pairs sponsored by Sportsmatch and BBA Reman Ltd have now arrived. We still await the 70kg and 85kg coxed fours.

We are intending to purchase a new empacher 8 prioritised for the top women's group and a new heavier empacher available primarily to the top veterans group and the top men's senior squad.
